ABOUT US

Steedcrest is a specialist art outsourcing studio with a team of AAA industry veterans.

As individuals, we've helped ship games for the biggest names in entertainment, such as Blizzard, Riot, Hi-Rez and more.

Now, we’re fixing the outsourcing process by bridging the gap between external talent and your internal vision.

In an industry rushing toward generative tech and automation, we do the opposite. We pair elite human talent with a disciplined, artist-first workflow to deliver authentic, hand-crafted assets.

We’re new, we’re focused, and we treat your pipeline as our own.

We're building the studio we wished existed.

That's the whole story.

FAQ

Do you work with indie studios or only larger teams?

We work with studios of all sizes: from solo developers and small indie teams to mid-sized and AA studios. Our process scales to fit your scope and budget.

How do I know if outsourcing art is the right move for my project?

If you need specialized art skills, need to move faster than your in-house team allows, or want to keep your headcount lean without sacrificing quality, outsourcing is worth considering. We're happy to talk through your situation before any commitment.

What art styles can you handle?

We work across a wide range of styles, with a focus on realism and semi-realism. If you have references, we can tell you quickly whether it's in our area of expertise.

How is a project scoped and priced?

Every project starts with a brief. From there we put together a document covering deliverables, timeline, revision rounds, and a fixed price. No hourly ambiguity, you know what you're getting before anything starts. Additional changes after work is accepted will be billed according to their complexity.

What is your turnaround time?

Timelines depend on scope, complexity, and current studio capacity. We'll give you a realistic timeline before anything is signed based on the project scope (and we stick to it).

Who will actually be making the art?

We'll assign artists from our roster to work on your deliverables. Every project is overseen by our Art Director, who briefs, reviews, and quality-checks all work before it reaches you. The artists on your project are selected based on style fit and experience match, not just availability.

Do you handle the full pipeline or just parts of it?

We specialize in concept art and illustration - from early exploration through to final key art and production-ready assets. We don't currently offer 3D or animation (at the moment) but we can give you some recommendations for trusted partners if needed.

Who owns the work once it's delivered?

You do. Full IP transfers to you upon final payment. We retain the right to display finished work in our portfolio, once your project goes public, unless you request otherwise in writing.

How do we communicate during a project?

You have one point of contact throughout: our Art Director. We work over email and your preferred project management tool, with structured check-ins tied to each delivery milestone.

How do we get started?

Reach out with a brief overview of your project: what you're making, where you are in development, and what you need. We'll follow up as soon as possible to set up a call or start scoping directly.

Who is your Art Director?

Steedcrest is led by Lia "Bleeding-Sun", a illustrator and concept artist whose work spans games (AAA, AA, indie), publishing, and TTRPGs - in lead roles across character concept art, environment concept art, and illustration. As our founder, Steedcrest was built to reflect clear set of values about how this kind of work should be done. She's also the one you'd be working with.
